_MORGAN SHEPHERD CHARITABLE FUND CELEBRATES 25TH ANNUAL EVENT
_ Since 1976,
Morgan Shepherd has been devoting his time throughout each racing season to
raise funds and gather donations to help those less fortunate. Over 25 years,
Morgan's efforts has materialized into a federally licensed 501C(3) charitable
organization and an outstanding fun-filled event every December in the Blue
Ridge Mountains of Virginia to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
On monday, December 19th, The Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund celebrated
it's 25th anniversary with a breakfast show at The Parc Workshop in Stuart,
Virginia. Guests included comedian and musician Barry McGee, along with drivers
Dennis Setzer, Johnny Chapman and PRN and ESPN radio mc Mark Garrow among
others. Entertainment included music and dancing with Morgan in his familiar
roller-skates shaking hands and shaking a leg while signing autographs.
The Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund was very blessed and happy to raise
$15,000 for The Parc Workshop in Stuart,Virginia to assist those who have
disabilities. The Parc Workshop teaches these special folks how to take care of
themselves in the home and be more independent by doing things we take for
granted everyday such as cooking, cleaning, making a bed, and ironing
clothes.
The day did not end there. Morgan and his band of missionaries then
traveled to the Rex Theatre in Galax,Virginia for a show and a good ol'
fashioned christian revival that included music and entertainment for over 1,200
in attendance. Also, Morgan's race-car hauler filled with 1,500 gift boxes made
it's way to The Rex Theatre. Each gift box was filled with toys, candy, and
clothing items for the poor and poverish in the blue ridge mountain area, along
with a check for $4,000 from The Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund for additional
assistance.
"I'm so proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the past 25
years." said Shepherd. "This is what it's all about. Helping others in need. I'm
so very blessed to be able to do what I do in NASCAR. It gets pretty hectic and
crazy sometimes and this puts in all back into perspective. This is just
fantastic!"
Morgan and the Morgan Shepherd Charitable Fund would like to thank all
those who made our 25th year possible and a big success. If you would like to
