"I want to thank all the race fans, friends and people that gave. Doesn't matter if amount was great or small because everyone is as important. I appreciate that you gave for this historic event for being the oldest driver to compete at the NASCAR Sprint Cup level. Thanks to BK Motorsports and all involved for this opportunity. I am honored to have received such a warm welcome from the fans. Thanks to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the plaque I was given. Oh man, that was great. It has truly been a blessing in every way, thank you" said Shepherd.
