PHOENIX, AZ - Suncraft Sportswear, a Phoenix-based screen printing business, has joined Faith Motorsports as an associate sponsor of tonight's Bashas Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Raceway, the team announced April 17.
Suncraft, which has been in business in the Phoenix area since 1959, offers a full array of screen printing and embroidery. Their products can be found online at www.suncraftscreenprinting.com.
Suncraft was started by Shannon W. Smith Jr. Shannon was an 18 year old student and fraternity member at Arizona State University when inspiration came to him. A t-shirt rep came to Shannon’s fraternity to take orders for a fraternity event t-shirt. Shannon missed the shirt rep because he was out of town when the orders were taken. Upset that he had missed out, his sister told him, "why don't you make your own shirt”? It's easy!" His sister Sharon was an art major at Boston College and had recently learned how to make screen prints on material. Sharon taught her younger brother Shannon the process and the rest was history. The name Suncraft was what Shannon named his business, which came from the fact that he was his father's son and this was his craft, thus the name, Suncraft.
The Suncraft logo will appear on the #89 Faith Motorsports Chevrolet throughout today's activities at the track.
