BRISTOL, TN - The following is an account of Faith Motorsports team member Dave Pack's trip to Bristol and how God sometimes works in mysterious ways.

My brother-in-law and I had two extra "Cup" tickets for Sunday's race (couldn't get the wives to go). We thought we'd just sell them to scalpers for whatever we could get. We always park about 2-3 miles from the track and catch a ride with a shuttle so that we don't get stuck in the traffic after the race. An old "beater" of a pickup truck carrying about 10 people stopped to pick us up. We jumped in and handed five dollars to the driver through the sliding rear window. The driver looked about 45 years of age and he had a young boy sitting in the front seat with him who looked about 10 years old. You could tell they didn't have much. The driver got us to the track and everyone climbed out, but my brother-in-law realized that he had left our tickets in our car back where we parked. We asked the driver if he'd take us back. He said "no problem", and drove us back without asking for anything. He even waited on us to get our tickets. We jumped into the back of his truck once again. As we waited to turn around in traffic, I asked the driver through his sliding rear window, "Are you going to the race?" He said, "No sir, I really can't afford it right now, that's why I do this to earn extra money. I'm the boy's uncle, and his father just passed away recently, so I kinda look after him." I asked the little boy if he had ever been to a race, and he said, "No, my dad promised me he would take me, but he's in heaven now." I looked at my brother in law and he read my mind and nodded, handing me the two extra tickets. I reached the two tickets through the sliding window and said "Your dad just kept his promise, here ya' go." The driver said, "You've gotta be kidding man! Are those tickets for today's race? "Yes sir" I said. "Wow, you didn't have to do that!" He then looked at the astonished boy and said, "What do you say to the nice man Jason, we're going to the race!" The boy said, "WOW! Thank you sir!" I said, "Don't thank me kid, thank your dad. He kept his promise. I just delivered them for him."
